Road freight has traditionally been a highly fragmented, low-margin industry characterised by underutilisation of assets and outdated customer interfaces. A real lack of automation and digitisation for key processes like dispatching, order management and load consolidation has added to inherent cost problems. There have long been calls for the industry to go digital and to adopt more modern practices, but they are now growing louder and more urgent.
