Abalta will enable drivers to access Alexa on supported in-vehicle infotainment systems

Abalta Technologies today announced plans to integrate Amazon Alexa into its WebLink connected car platform

Abalta Technologies, a leading provider of technology and infotainment solutions for the global connected car market, today announced plans to integrate Amazon Alexa into its WebLink connected car platform, enabling drivers to access Alexa on WebLink-enabled in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems.

Abalta Technologies has years of experience creating and delivering world-class software products, solutions and services for the global connected car. Its WebLink and custom connected car engineering services empower car manufacturers and suppliers to create fully customized infotainment services.

By integrating Alexa into WebLink, drivers with a supported car radio or headunit can enjoy simple, seamless access to Alexa directly from their vehicle. Drivers simply need to pair their smartphone, link their Amazon account, and hit the road. Once enabled, customers can ask to play music, get directions, check news and weather, control smart home devices, and more – all while keeping their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.

“Alexa is making life easier for customers by providing hands-free access to a wealth of information, features and capabilities – all you have to do is ask. We are excited to be able to offer our customers a way to interact with Alexa in the car and enjoy a more natural, entertaining and productive driving experience,” said Frank Gonzalez, Director of Products at Abalta Technologies.

“We want Alexa to be available to more customers in more vehicles, and that means working closely with companies like Abalta who can integrate Alexa directly into their existing software and services,” said Ned Curic, VP of Alexa Auto at Amazon. “We’re thrilled to be working with them to bring Alexa to vehicles with WebLink-enabled in-vehicle infotainment systems.”
