In answer to the ever increasing demand for faster bodyshop processes, AkzoNobel’s Vehicle Refinishes business has introduced a new Accelerator product to add versatility to its Lesonal 2K HS Premium Clear 420 and 2K HS Fast Clear 420 clearcoat system.
Users choosing to include Accelerator in the mix can reduce drying time to just 15 minutes at 60°C without any compromise in finish quality compared to the standard application.
“Increasing speed of repair is always a big challenge for many bodyshops, but there is no point in doing jobs quickly if the result doesn’t satisfy the customer,” says Global Segment Manager Rogier van Vlijmen. “AkzoNobel has formulated Lesonal Accelerator to boost workflow but without any compromise on our clearcoat’s trusted quality.”
He adds, “In addition to raising throughput, our new product’s improved drying performance saves on the energy and labor cost of each repair, giving the opportunity to increase bodyshop profitability. Reduction in energy consumption also contributes to meeting sustainability targets.”
For circumstances in which a slower repair is required, the system still offers a flexible mixing choice including Lesonal Reducer Clear 420 and Thinner HT.
Product Manager Niels den Heeten confirms, “We now have an even more versatile solution, suitable for every repair. Accelerator is fully compatible with the current components in the clearcoat system, and together they perform with all the reliability our customers have come to expect.”
He continues, “That means maintaining the same trouble-free sprayability, excellent flow and easy polishability, along with a rock-hard, high-quality gloss finish that is highly resistant to scratching and fading.”
