Bill Charmley, Director, Assessment & Standards Division, Office of Transportation and Air Quality, US EPA has been confirmed as the keynote speaker at Fuel Economy Detroit.
Bill Charmley has worked for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) since 1992. During the past 24 years, he has worked on a variety of engine and vehicle emission control programs, including the 2004 and 2007 highway heavy-duty diesel standards, EPA’s off-highway farm and construction Tier 4 diesel program, greenhouse gas emission standards for light-duty vehicles covering the 2012-2025 model years, as well as several programs which established standards for off-highway gasoline engines.
Mr. Charmley is currently the Director for the Assessment and Standards Division, where he is responsible for developing vehicle, engine, and fuel environmental air quality regulatory standards for all transportation sources in the US, as well as the development and on-going improvements to EPA’s official air pollution emissions inventory forecasting model for highway and nonroad transportation sources.
