Bright Box, the global vendor of Remoto Connected Car platform partnered with the MINI USA, a division of the BMW Group to develop a custom Mobile Communication Platform for the MINI community and the MINI USA team participating on MINI TAKES THE STATES, the legendary biennial MINI owners road rally.
This unique innovative product provided MINI owners with connected car services that enabled them to monitor various aspects of their vehicle’s performance during the seven day rally, connecting MINI enthusiasts to their vehicles via a mobile app.
MINI TAKES THE STATES (MTTS) is a consumer-based loyalty event that started simultaneously in Orlando, Florida, and Portland, Oregon on Saturday, July 14, 2018, and converged at Keystone Resort, Colorado on Friday, July 20.
As vendor of a turn-key connected car platform, Bright Box provided certified OBD dongles to be installed in the vehicles, a web-based control panel, and a customer app. The Сonnected Car platform was deployed in more than 700 vehicles during the rally. Combined with the Customer Retention Solution, this created a unique platform with aggregated customer and car information for MINI USA.
The Connected Car solution for MTTS 2018 allowed users to run a vehicle health check, see their vehicles’ dynamic data such as fuel consumption, range, engine temperature, door status, accelerometer data, detailed trip history.
In addition the solution offered MTTS route locations, location of other MTTS participants in a heat map, as well as MTTS news including an Instagram and Facebook share option. In addition, push-notifications to inform participants of special news was shared through the mobile app.
There have been six MTTS road trips starting with the inaugural rally in 2006. The seventh biennial MTTS rally traveled through America’s scenic backroads and byways. “We are pleased to be part of an international team to support this innovative project, using our technology to help make this epic road trip informative, engaging and fun for MINI fans.” said Robert Schuessler, Connected Car VP Europe Bright Box, member of Zurich Group.
