Recently, in the C-NCAP crash test conducted by Chinese automotive safety test institution, Chery’s new-generation SUV-Tiggo got the 5-star safety certification with the score of 52.9 points and illustrated its outstanding safety performance.
Among all crash test items, Tiggo scored full marks in moving deformable barrier impact test and seat whiplash test. It got excellent result in frontal full width impact test and 40% offset deformable barrier frontal impact test. Tiggo achieved the 5-star safety certification with full marks in two items and scored high marks in the other two.
Such brilliant result is attributable to careful and well-thought safety design. With its “Y”/”#”/”O” energy absorption design, Tiggo’s anti-crash “3R Body” can transfer and absorb crash energy effectively. The body also uses plenty of ultra-high-tensile steel sheets and advanced laser welding processes to ensure strong rigidity and minimize risk of body deformation in the crash.
Besides, Tiggo’s safety design also incorporates multiple airbags, pre-tensioning safety belts, anti-descending seats and two-stage collapsible steering column, etc., which are important factors to lead success in the test. Above all, Tiggo is equipped with Electronic Stability Program System (ESP) and Hill Hold Control System (HHC). With the increase of the configuration, driving and riding safety can be ensured adequately.
Since it was launched officially by the end of 2013, Chery’s Tiggo has been supported and favored by over 100,000 customers across the world. Strong product competitiveness is the solid foundation behind the results. And achieving the C-NCAP 5-Star certification will make Tiggo’s outstanding performance even better.
