- Rescue data sheets for the fire brigade can be accessed online
- Mercedes-Benz and Setra buses and coaches listed since 2000
- Comprehensive Guidelines for Rescue Services can be accessed from the brands’ websites
The buses and coaches from the Setra and Mercedes-Benz brands are equipped with the very latest driver assistance and safety systems available in the industry. Nonetheless, if an accident should occur, every action counts. In order to provide rescue services at the scene with effective, rapid support, Daimler Buses has put together rescue data sheets for all vehicles in the Setra and Mercedes-Benz brands. Rescue services right at the accident scene can use the detailed information to access important specifications on the various vehicle models and associated safety systems – rapidly and simply. The model variants of all vehicles, which have been manufactured since 2000, are covered.
“One of the traditional goals of our brands is to guarantee the highest possible degree of safety”, says Ulrich Bastert, Head of Marketing, Sales and After Sales Daimler Buses: “With the comprehensive information we are providing the rescue services with the knowledge they need regarding the basic structure of the vehicles. In this way, the rescue services can provide rapid, effective assistance in the event of an accident.”
The data sheets, which can be accessed online, are made available to organisers of the relevant rescue services and form part of the comprehensive Guidelines for Rescue Services, which can be downloaded freely from the Mercedes-Benz and Setra websites as PDF files. The guidelines include information on model variant overviews of all vehicles as well as information on vehicle substructures, engines, cockpits, passenger compartments and special areas such as toilet cabins or driver’s rest areas.
As regards the specific characteristics of urban buses and touring coaches such as design, different access options and safety systems, these guidelines help rescue services do their job, be it at the scene of an accident or as part of a training course.
