FCA Canada today reported its highest monthly sales in the Company’s 92-year history, with 33,186 vehicles sold. The Ram brand, Ram pickup and Jeep® Grand Cherokee led the charge in May, also recording record all-time monthly sales results.
Overall, monthly FCA Canada sales rose by 5 per cent, as compared with sales in May 2016 of 31,705 units. Retail sales were 20,192 units, up 1 per cent from the same month last year. FCA Canada fleet sales were 12,994 units (up 11 per cent from May 2016).
Sales Highlights
The Ram brand was key in achieving FCA Canada’s highest ever monthly sales.
For May 2017, Ram brand set an all-time monthly sales record of 15,524 units, an increase of 61 per cent as compared with the same month last year. Leading the way was the award-winning Ram light duty and heavy duty pickups, which also achieved an all-time monthly sales record of 14,990 units, versus 9,258 in May 2016, representing a 62 per cent increase.
Further, Ram brand’s versatile ProMaster and ProMaster City also saw sales increases of 34 and 73 per cent, respectively, versus the same period last year.
Yet another all-time monthly sales record was achieved by Jeep Grand Cherokee, with 2,421 units sold in May 2017. This figure also represents a 22 per cent sales increase versus May 2016.
The most awarded SUV ever and the most-capable full-size SUV in its class, momentum continues behind this flagship model following the introduction of the 707-horsepower Grand Cherokee Trackhawk last month, the most powerful and quickest SUV ever.
