At a site covering 3,200 square metres, SMA, as the exclusive and official MAN partner in Mauritania, is offering owners and drivers of MAN vehicles a workshop comprising two repair lines, a replacement parts store stocking 700 different items, a special clean room for engine repairs, a showroom and a sales office. In addition, three all-wheel drive service vehicles are available, which are suitably equipped to provide MAN customers working at mines and opencast mines located in the northern part of the country some 700 kilometres away, for example, with breakdown assistance and on-site repairs with the least possible delay.
SMA was able to meet the structural conditions required for the opening of the workshop in an impressively short space of time: it took just twelve months from the establishment of the partnership in May 2016. Adel Lünz, Head of MAN Center NWC Africa highlighted the extraordinary levels of cooperation: “We are completely satisfied. SMA has shown itself to be a robust and ambitious partner that has invested a great deal in order to pro-vide MAN customers in Mauritania with a top-quality service.
On the occasion of the grand opening, the MAN TGS 40.400 6×6 was pre-sented to an audience comprising around one hundred invited guests and customers from the mining and opencast mining sectors and the transport and logistics sector. This robust all-wheel drive vehicle is perfectly suited to the demands of tropical countries.
“Today is an historic day for us, and we are incredibly proud to see so many guests here celebrating with us,” said Brahim Ahmed Salem Ghadda, Chair of the Supervisory Board at SMA. The customers were joined by the Mauri-tanian Minister of Economic Affairs, Naha Mint Hamdi Ould Mouknass, the Mauritanian Transport Minister, Seyedna Ali Ould Mohamed Khouna, and the Permanent Representative of the German Embassy in Mauritania, An-dreas Dauth, who was invited to cut the ceremonial ribbon.
