Hino Motors, Ltd. (Hino) acquired majority ownership of its joint company Pilipinas Hino, Inc., which carries out manufacturing and sales operations in the Philippines, renaming the company Hino Motors Philippines Corporation (Hino Philippines).

For over four decades, Hino has built a solid reputation for its brand in the Philippines by offering products with excellent QDR (Quality, Durability and Reliability) and exceptional after-sale services. In recent years, the Philippines has been enjoying one of the highest growth rates among major ASEAN nations, ushering in a growing commercial vehicles market. Hino sees the Philippines as a key market with significant inherent demand.

As part of the company’s efforts to reinforce its Total Support operations for addressing a diverse range of customer needs, and to further build on the Hino brand’s reputation in the country, Hino has increased its equity in Pilipinas Hino and acquired majority ownership in this joint company, originally formed with local partner Professional Managers, Inc. (PMI) and Marubeni Corporation.

In response to the ongoing growth of the market, we intend to provide one-stop shopping and services that address a diverse range of needs by further enhancing our sales organization and reinforcing our body manufacturing operations for truck and bus bodies. In after-sale support and services, we plan to reinforce our Total Support operations with a focus on direct dealers, and improve our systems and organization so we are sought by our customers as a partner and active contributor to their businesses. We aim to become a brand that our customers will continue to choose based on our ongoing vision of a single Team Hino in which the manufacturer, distributors and dealers work together hand-in-hand.

Hino and Hino Philippines are committed to working together to develop the automotive industry in the Philippines and contribute to the development of local communities by offering trucks and buses that play an essential supporting role in all of our lives.
