Hyundai Motor has revealed three new videos highlighting the all-new i20’s class-leading connectivity and safety features, as well as its enhanced infotainment package.
Hyundai recently launched the all-new i20, the third generation of one of the company’s most successful models. Distinguished by a completely new, dynamic style, it is Hyundai’s first car in Europe to reflect the company’s new ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design identity.
The all-new i20 has also received a range of connectivity and safety upgrades compared to its predecessor. Three new brand films highlight some of the model’s key features.
The most comprehensive safety package in the B-segment
The all-new i20 offers the most comprehensive safety package in the B-segment and complies with the highest European safety standards. The first film focuses on two of the model’s key advanced safety features, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) and Driver Attention Warning (DAW) with Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LVDA).
Using a front camera, the upgraded FCA function alerts all-new i20 drivers to emergency situations and, if required, applies the brakes autonomously in order to avoid a collision. FCA can now detect pedestrians and cyclists as well as cars.
DAW helps all-new i20 customers to monitor their driving patterns in order to detect reckless or fatigued driving and prevent potential accidents. The system analyses various vehicle signals, such as steering angle, steering torque, the vehicles position in the lane and driving time. If the system detects inattentive driving patterns, a sound and message on the instrument display panel will alert the driver.
DAW works in tandem with Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LVDA), which is new to the i20. LVDA alerts the driver when the vehicle ahead of them starts moving forward and they do not react quickly enough, for example at traffic lights.
High-tech infotainment features
The second film highlights two of the all-new i20’s high-tech infotainment features: a 10.25-inch centre touchscreen and a new Bose Premium Sound System. At 10.25-inches, the centre touchscreen, responsible for controlling audio, visual and navigation functions, is the largest screen in the segment. As the video shows, customers can search for points of interest (POI) using voice command. The centre touchscreen also offers split-screen functionality for multitasking. This visually complements the 10.25-inch digital cluster, creating a modern connectivity environment for the driver.
Meanwhile, the all-new i20 is the first Hyundai model in Europe to feature a Bose Premium Sound System. Passengers can enjoy a high-quality listening experience thanks to eight speakers, including a sub-woofer, which are strategically placed throughout the vehicle.
