The 2015 Hyundai Sonata ranked No. 1 as Cars.com’s Most Affordable Midsize Sedan. The model earned this prestigious honor for its affordable purchase price, projected low fuel costs and residual value.
“Midsize sedans continue to be some of the most popular cars with consumers,” said Dave Thomas, Cars.com managing editor. “This is a segment with a lot of competitive options, most of which come with all of the creature comforts car shoppers expect. Not only is the Sonata the most affordable in its class, but it is also one of the best.”
Cars.com tested the midsize sedans on sale today based on price and long-term cost, instead of simply the cost of each car. To make the list, each car had to come with the bare minimum features that today’s shoppers expect, including automatic transmission, power driver’s seat, rearview camera, Bluetooth and USB.
“It is important for car shoppers to consider the long-term financial implications, such as fuel cost and residual value,” said Mike O’Brien, vice president of corporate and product planning, Hyundai Motor America. “When we designed the Sonata, we wanted to provide a vehicle that helps save owners money over time, so they can pay less at the pump and sell their car for more down the road.”
In addition to this award, the Sonata recently also won the Cars.com, USA TODAY, MotorWeek Midsize Sedan Challenge.
