The new INFINITI QX inspiration mid-sized SUV Concept will make its Canadian debut at the 2019 Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS) in Toronto on February 14th 2019. The new concept showcases INFINITI’s vision for high-performance electrified vehicles, indicating a new era for INFINITI design, enabled by new technology.
“The INFINITI QX Inspiration signals the future of INFINITI design for our imminent, electrified portfolio. It previews a product that will offer high performance, ultra-low emissions and range confidence. We are excited to showcase the INFINITI QX Inspiration Concept for the first time in Canada, where INFINITI’s head of design, Karim Habib, calls home.”
– Adam Paterson, managing director, INFINITI Canada
The display at the CIAS marks the second major auto show appearance for the INFINITI QX Inspiration Concept, following its global debut at the 2019 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. It was at the 2019 NAIAS where the QX Inspiration was awarded “Best Concept Vehicle”, “Best Interior” and “Innovative Use of Color, Graphics or Materials” by the prominent collection of automotive designers known as EyesOn Design.
EyesOn Design is comprised of more than 30 active and retired design heads of automotive manufacturers, and transportation design chairs from top art schools.
The QX Inspiration was selected based on its “true inspiration and functionality,” according to the judges who also applauded its “New and fresh look that shows extraordinary sophistication and simplicity – it embodies a modern take on materials while retaining a clean Japanese sensibility.”
“The QX Inspiration is the manifestation of our electric ambition and is the culmination of three decades of design and technological leadership. It has been literally thirty years in the making. I’m so proud of the design team that found a way to fuse mid-century modern design with Japanese minimalism. Recognition among peers in the industry is the highest form of praise. We are both humbled and grateful.”
