The Jaguar I-PACE has been named ‘Best Car’ at T3’s 2018 Technology Awards. The awards took place at London’s Ministry of Sound last week. The award was present by Spencer Hart, T3’s Product & Style Editor.
Graham Wilkins, Chief Product Engineer, was on hand to collect the award: “We are delighted that the Jaguar I-PACE has won this prestigious award. As Jaguar’s first all-electric car, the I-PACE is an exciting new step for us and it’s fantastic to see our innovative technology recognised and celebrated.”
Since the car’s public debut in March this year, the I-PACE has already claimed an array of awards, including AutoExpress New Car of the Year and What Car? Game Changer. This award from T3 demonstrates the ongoing success of the I-PACE and in particular, highlights its impressive advanced technology.
T3 jurors had the following to say on Jaguar’s first all-electric vehicle: “Here’s a car that almost defies classification, because Jaguar didn’t stick to one. Instead it focused on making its first all-electric vehicle into the very best car it could be. With a 300-mile range, 394bhp to all four wheels, and a delectable trim, it doesn’t matter if this is an SUV, a sports car or a sedan – it’s just great. End of.”
Awash with cutting-edge technology, the I-PACE uses Artificial Intelligence algorithms to personalise the car’s driving and interior settings to the individual driver. To maximise driver confidence, the car also calculates range and charging status using the most accurate system we have ever produced, taking into account topography and changing climate conditions amongst other driver inputs. The I-PACE is Jaguar’s first vehicle to include the intuitive Touch Pro Duo infotainment system and can provide over-the-air software updates, to ensure the car remains at the forefront of technology advancement.
