Kia Motors America today announced June sales of 56,571 vehicles, a 0.8-percent increase over the same period last year. In the month that saw Kia top all non-premium brands in J.D. Power’s Initial Quality Study for the fourth consecutive year, sales were led by the Sorento SUV at 12,089 units, up 23.9-percent year-over-year. In addition to Sorento, Rio, Niro and Sedona also posted double-digit sales increases over June 2017.

“With our ‘America’s Best Value Summer Event’ in full swing and J.D. Power recognizing Kia’s world-class initial quality for the fourth straight year, we are seeing healthy year-over-year increases in showroom traffic and sales,” said Bill Peffer, vice president, sales operations, Kia Motors America. “In addition, June also saw the number of Kia vehicles rated as a 2018 Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick Plus by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety rise to nine, providing discerning customers with even more reasons to place Kia on their shopping list.”
