- Transparency in the supply chain with Kögel Telematics
- Kögel Telematics = Kögel Trailer Telematics module + Kögel Telematics web portal
Kögel’s own trailer telematics system – called “Kögel Telematics” – will have its premiere at the transport logistic fair. A 1:10 scale model will be displayed on Stand 312 in Hall A6 to demonstrate to which data the drivers, forwarding agents and customers will have access when they make use of the new system. To date Kögel Telematics has been an add-on component that worked together with the web-based portal of a partner, but Kögel will be making use of a completely new system, designed especially for Kögel trailers. Kögel customers will in future profit from a cost-effective, ultra-modern and reliable trailer telematics system that provides real-time access to tracking, refrigeration, trailer and EBS data using a clear, self-explanatory and intuitive Kögel web portal.

The new Kögel Trailer Telematics module combines trailer telematics with diagnosis of the braking system and also integrates additional vehicle data in the evaluation. The equally new Kögel web portal or fleet management system can be used by forwarding companies to call up standard “PosControl” telematics data such as locations, driving times and progress and geofencing data in real time. “EBSControl” provides information about the electronic braking system (EBS) such as RSS interventions, mileage, speed, axle load, tyre pressure and brake wear. “TrailerControl” shows the current coupling status, the opening state of the doors, whether the ignition of the tractor unit is on or off and the battery status. “TempControl” helps to monitor and control the temperature inside a refrigerated trailer, to document the entire refrigeration chain and to inform the user about the operating and maintenance cycles or to monitor the temperature of asphalt in a tipper body.
Kögel Telematics is available for all vehicles in the Kögel product portfolio. Depending on the trailer type, there are various options for data transfer, optional hardware equipment and pricing.
