Mitsubishi Motors in the UK has today announced impressive results for September, its sales figures year-to-date (YTD) are up 49.61% on last year, further establishing the manufacturer as the UK’s fastest growing car brand.

Mitsubishi Motors in the UK’s impressive sales performance is the result of success across the whole model range. The two new Mitsubishi models, the supermini Mirage and the 7-seater SUV Outlander have been received extremely well and exceeded sales targets. The latest SMMT figures show that sales of Mitsubishi’s crossover ASX have increased significantly and that the £5,000 price realignment on the legendary Shogun has seen a considerable increase in sales YTD. The L200, which remains retail pick-up market leader, is also up on last year with a market share of 26.0% in September and 23.4% YTD.

The brand will continue the sales growth with expected increases of around 20% per year for the next 4 years as a result of a combination of new products, increased marketing spend and growth of the Mitsubishi dealer network.

Such impressive sales increases have contributed to a significant increase in dealer profitability, which is at its highest since 2006. It is little wonder, therefore, that Mitsubishi’s network size has increased by 10% in the last 6 months. And, in line with its anticipated sales growth, Mitsubishi Motors in the UK is looking to increase its network by a further 25 new dealers in the next 24 months.

To support Alan Rooke, Dealer Franchising Manager, the Company has expanded the Franchising team with the appointment of John Mason, who joins the department with immediate effect. John, who has been with the company for seven years will be responsible for recruiting dealers in the north of the country while Alan will look after the south.

John said:

“This is an exciting time to be part of the Mitsubishi dealer network. We have seen a remarkable sales increase and the fact that we are the fastest growing brand in the UK means we are able to attract the very best dealers to join Mitsubishi. I am very much looking forward to continuing the success story as I work to develop long term partnerships with new dealers.”

Mitsubishi Motors in the UK’s Managing Director, Lance Bradley, adds:

“2013 has been an exceptionally good year for us and sales are currently up more than 49% with thirty of our dealers doing more than double the volume than they did last year. It makes it so much easier to appoint new dealers when we can say that Mitsubishi is the fastest growing car brand in the UK and Return on Sales is the highest on record.”
