Highest recognition for the Marquardt Group: The President of the Tunisian Republic, Mohamed Beji Caid Essebsi, awarded Dr. Harald Marquardt for his commitment in favor of the Tunisian economy and the strengthening of the relations of friendship and cooperation between Tunisia and Germany. Nearly 40 guests were in attendance for the ceremony in Stuttgart, where the Tunisian ambassador, His Excellency Elyes Kasri, presented Dr. Harald Marquardt with the National Order of Merit in the category Industry and Trade.
“The modern economic structure, the favorable geographic location and the well-trained and highly-motivated workers – we learned to appreciate all that at our Tunisian production site,” Dr. Harald Marquardt said. “Considering the spirit of optimism and the entrepreneurial spirit in this beautiful county, we are very confident with a view to the continuing successful development. The award of the Tunisian President is a special recognition for Marquardt, and at the same time, an incentive to continue on the path we have chosen. What does entrepreneurship mean? Well – it involves identifying market opportunities systematically and at an early stage, activating investments and implementing business ideas. However, entrepreneurship also means bearing in mind that one can do less than many, and therefore the support of many people always leads to a better result. Without his employees an entrepreneur is no entrepreneur. So I am accepting this award today with humility and on behalf of all the employees of Marquardt Tunisia. People there have contributed towards the successful development of Marquardt Tunisia over all these years.”
