Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd. invested in Global Walkers, Inc., a start-up with strengths in AI-based image analysis technology that can be used in things such as monitoring the status of vehicle occupants in the CASE/MaaS society of the future. The investment was made in June 2022.
Global Walkers develops and supplies image analysis applications related to the movement of humans and objects using cameras, taking advantage of various AI applications such as an original image recognition model and a time series model.
“Venture into innovation, new mobility” is one of the pillars of Toyoda Gosei’s 2025 Business Plan, and the company is developing products with high added value that combine electronic components with its core technologies in rubber and plastics in response to CASE and MaaS technologies. Through its collaboration with Global Walkers, Toyoda Gosei will incorporate image analysis technology into its interior products and conduct development with a view to practical applications of human-machine interface (HMI) systems that will sense vehicle occupant behaviors.
