The Munich-based commercial vehicle manufacturer and the French tyre manufacturer jointly announced the official start of a new cooperation at the IAA Transportation in Hanover: from January 2023, Michelin will be the global partner of MAN ProfiDrive, the driver training programme from MAN Truck & Bus, for three years. For more than 40 years, the professionals from MAN have been training drivers in the safe use of safety and assistance systems, fuel-efficient driving and the use of telematics services, as well as in all topics that are relevant for fleet managers and entrepreneurs in the transport sector and in passenger transport. Since then, thousands of drivers in more than 67 countries have benefited from MAN ProfiDrive training. With Michelin, MAN Truck & Bus now has a new partner at its side in its commitment to qualified further training in the industry who, like MAN, attaches great importance to sustainable mobility.
“From professionals for professionals: our trainers from MAN ProfiDrive make the industry fit for everyday life on the road,” says Dennis Affeld, Head of Sales Truck & Van MAN Truck & Bus. “Michelin brings very special expertise in commercial vehicle tyres on board our driver training programme – a real win-win for everyone involved.”
At the IAA Transportation, MAN Truck & Bus and Michelin jointly announced that they will be working together on MAN ProfiDrive for the next three years. The tyre manufacturer is looking forward to its commitment as a global cooperation partner. “We want to and will make our contribution to safe and sustainable mobility in the commercial vehicle industry – especially with ideas and approaches that go beyond the classic tyre business,” says Philipp Ostbomk, Vice President Sales B2B at Michelin Europe North. “The partnership with MAN Truck & Bus also illustrates this claim, as a professional training offer increases efficiency and safety on the roads.”
MAN Truck & Bus has been offering training in basic principles, economy, safety and special areas of application at an international level for the transport industry and passenger transport via MAN ProfiDrive since 1981. The MAN ProfiDrive portfolio includes both the legally required professional driver training measures and customer-specific training courses.
Thousands of participants in over 67 countries have already worked with MAN experts to optimise their driving style in terms of safety and sustainability. Because only those who use all the innovative technologies on board trucks and buses correctly and drive prudently, safely and with foresight can sustainably reduce risks in road traffic as well as fuel consumption, wear and tear.
