- Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles launches new Crafter Tipper at CV Show
- New tipper developed in partnership with conversion specialist VFS
- Available in both single and double cab variants
- Offered with optional cage assembly, giving increased flexibility
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has further strengthened its ‘Engineered to Go’ range with the launch of a new tipper truck at this year’s CV Show at the NEC. Based on the adaptable Crafter chassis cab platform, the new tipper body has been developed in partnership with conversions specialist VFS. It boasts a high payload capacity and is available in both single and double cab variants.
With a large number of features fitted as standard, the new Crafter tipper benefits from a direct acting five stage underfloor ram to offer a safe, versatile and easy-to-use vehicle. Offering a flexible load-carrying area, the new tipper is available with the option of a robust cage assembly that can be specified with or without sliding sides.
Developed to the latest European design regulations, the new tipper features a high-strength steel platform optimised for torsional rigidity. While the tipper mechanism is designed to provide maintenance-free lifting throughout the vehicle’s life, the new conversion’s bolted construction method offers fast and simple access to the rest of the vehicle.
The robust body features a high yield steel tail-board that keeps loads secure within the tipper bed, with easy-to-use side mounted lock mechanisms offering quick and simple access. Integral load lashing points are spread across the body to ensure that loads are kept safe and under control on the move.
Based on the successful Crafter chassis cab platform, the new conversion benefits from the same safety features, efficient Euro 6 engines and BlueMotion Technology found as standard across the Crafter range. The new tipper also comes with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ three-year, unlimited-mileage warranty which covers the conversion as well as the vehicle.

The new Crafter Tipper will be on display on the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles stand at the Commercial Vehicle Show at the NEC in Birmingham this week (26-28 April).
