Volvo Cars this year will start fulfilling U.S. customer preorders for the EX30, the Swedish brand’s first ever fully electric premium small SUV, to satisfy demand as quickly as possible.
Customers across the U.S. placed deposits for the Volvo EX30 after it was revealed in Milan in June 2023. While it has become one of the best-selling electric vehicles in Europe, customers in the U.S. have been patiently waiting for it to arrive.
In response to strong consumer demand, Volvo Car USA has prioritized the most requested model: the 422 hp EX30 Twin Motor Performance, available in Plus or Ultra equipment levels with a starting MSRP of $44,900.
The Single Motor variant is still scheduled to come to the U.S. later in 2025, as communicated earlier this year.
Customers with an existing preorder reservation for the Volvo EX30 are being invited to configure their cars at www.volvocars.com, with deliveries of select examples to begin before the end of this year.
“Volvo has been and always will be about people, which is why we worked hard to make the Volvo EX30 available sooner than anticipated for our customers,” said Mike Cottone, President, Volvo Car USA and Canada. “The EX30 has already proved exceptionally popular in other markets, and we’re excited to bring it to the U.S. this year.”
Every Volvo car comes standard with the safety, quality, and Scandinavian design expected from our brand, and the Twin Motor Performance adds capable all-wheel drive and quicker acceleration to the well-balanced EX30. In fact, it’s the quickest accelerating Volvo ever.
Another thing the EX30 does fast is charging. The extended-range Twin Motor Performance variant has a charging capacity of up to 153 kW and an EPA range of 253 miles*. This enables the battery to be charged from 10 to 80 percent in a little over 25 minutes*.
The EX30 provides drivers with a true and capable SUV, born electric and packed with all the smart tech customers need. Combined with an attractive starting price, customers get a premium fully electric SUV for a similar price to combustion engine-powered equivalents. As a small SUV that does big Volvo things, the new fully electric Volvo EX30 is also designed to have the smallest carbon footprint of any fully electric Volvo car to date, and to make people’s lives safer, more convenient and more enjoyable through cutting-edge technology and Scandinavian design.
The EX30 has already won several awards, including the 2023 Popular Science Best of What’s New, 2024 World Urban Car of the Year and the prestigious Red Dot award: Best of the Best Product Design 2024.
*The small print:
Models equipped with 19-inch wheels have an EPA-certified electric driving range of up to 253 miles (MPGe: 116 city/ 100 highway/ 109 combined) when the battery is fully charged and under ideal driving conditions. Use for comparison purposes only. Actual range and MPGe will vary for many reasons, including but not limited to, driving conditions, how and where you drive, how you maintain your vehicle, battery-package/condition, and other factors.
Charging times are dependent on factors such as outdoor temperature, current battery temperature, charging equipment, battery condition and car condition.
