Roof – innovative roof systems for an extraordinary feel-good atmosphere

  • Convertible roof with glass panel and switchable glazing
Webasto is exhibiting a completely retractable convertible roof in the Maserati Cielo. When closed, an integrated glass panel offers an unobstructed view of the sky. PDLC (Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal) switchable glazing technology is also incorporated into a convertible roof for the first time.
  • Panoramic roof with ambient light and switchable glazing
In a large fixed panoramic roof, Webasto is integrating ambient light and segmented switchable glazing technologies together in a single-pane for the first time.
  • Openable roof system with ambient light and switchable glazing
For the first time, Webasto is also showcasing the surprising light effects or blackout possibilities offered by high-tech glass in an openable roof system for the first time.
  • Largest openable solar roof in the world
Webasto integrates modern solar cells into the glass of a large openable roof system. Thanks to solar energy, the range of electric vehicles can be extended or aid the air conditioning of the vehicle’s interior.
  • Openable roof system for autonomous driving
The Roof Sensor Module (RSM) from Webasto elegantly combines lidar and camera technologies as well as sensor availability functions in an openable roof system. This not only facilitates an appealing novel design, but also supports automated driving.
  • Panoramic display
At the touch of a button, a panoramic display included in the roof transforms the rear of the vehicle into a private cinema and creates a feel-good atmosphere in the interior.

Electrification – powerful and efficient heating and battery systems for electromobility applications
