BMW partners with Huawei for cross-device features in China

Beginning in 2026, new BMW owners will be able to use their Huawei phone to remotely control their car, alongside other features. By Stewart Burnett

BMW announced on 17 March 2025 it will integrate smart car software from tech giant Huawei in its upcoming models for the Chinese market. Huawei’s HarmonyOS ecosystem will allow the automaker to offer a range of advanced interconnectivity features between the user’s car and smartphone—provided it’s a Huawei.
