Delhi to block refuelling for end-of-life vehicles

The Indian capital also plans to convert a majority of its existing bus fleets to battery-electric by the end of 2026. By Stewart Burnett

The municipal government of Indian capital Delhi has announced new plans to clamp down on pollution in the city. In an effort to take hundreds of thousands of high-polluting vehicles off the road permanently, cars registered 15 years or more ago will be refused fuel at the city’s gasoline pumps beginning 31 March 2025.
