FT: Honda still open to Nissan takeover, but Uchida must go

Nissan’s board is reportedly considering accelerating the timeline of Chief Executive Makoto Uchida’s departure. By Stewart Burnett

Honda is open to resuming takeover discussions with Nissan provided that its Chief Executive Makoto Uchida steps down, according to a 18 February report by The Financial Times. Initial discussions broke down when Honda demanded that instead of a merger, Nissan become a fully-fledged subsidiary.
