Japanese startup Robotruck raises ¥300m in seed round

Robotruck is the latest player to posit autonomous driving as a solution to Japan’s worsening driver shortage. By Stewart Burnett

Tokyo-based autonomous trucking startup Robotruck has raised JP¥300m (US$2.4m) in seed funding through a third-party allotment of shares. The company, which has set its sights on addressing the growing driver shortage in Japan, saw JP¥150m from University of Tokyo startup fund UTokyo Innovation Platform alone.
