Kenworth to retire long-running W900 truck series in 2026

Kenworth attributed the W900’s retirement to increasingly strict emissions regulations and component constraints. By Stewart Burnett

American truckmaker Kenworth has announced it will wind down production of the long-running W900 heavy-duty truck and cease production entirely in 2026. The truck, widely regarded as a piece of Americana beyond its practical applications, has been a mainstay of US trucking routes since first entering production in 1963.
