Mercedes-Benz plans to cut up to 15% of its Chinese workforce and achieve a local cost reduction of 25%, according to a 27 February 2025 report by Bloomberg. The job cuts had been underway for some time already, with some contracts not being renewed, but the pace of layoffs is now said to be increasing.
