Nissan considers ending production in Wuhan, says Reuters

Despite having a production capacity of 300,000 units, the Wuhan plant has only produced around 10,000 units per year since launch. By Stewart Burnett

Nissan is considering ending production at its plant in Wuhan, China, by the end of financial year 2025, according to a 26 April 2025 report by Reuters. Two sources familiar with the matter told the outlet that the decision is motivated by waning demand in China, the world’s largest vehicle market, amid stiff competition from cheaper local brands.
