The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has outlined a proposal to make electronic stability control (ESC) systems mandatory on large commercial trucks, motorcoaches, and other large buses. While stability control became mandatory for passenger vehicles this model year, it is not currently required on CVs.
The safety agency claims that
