Tesla recalls 46,000+ Cybertrucks due to detaching panels

Tesla will replace the controversial Cybertruck’s rail assembly free of charge amid persistent criticisms of the vehicle’s build quality. By Stewart Burnett

On 19 March 2025, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced that Tesla will recall more than 46,000 Cybertrucks to address an ongoing problem with detaching exterior panels. The specific part in question is the cantrail—a stainless steel exterior trim panel that runs along the top of the front doors.
