Thailand moves to decarbonise its mass transit system

The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority plans to deploy 1,520 electric buses in the Bangkok metro area by the end of 2026. By Stewart Burnett

Thailand is looking to ramp up its deployment of electric buses, with plans to lease 1,520 units in the Bangkok metro area by 2026 according to a report by national outlet Prachachat Business. Bangkok Mass Transit Authority, the state-owned company behind the plans, considers this to be the first phase in a wider decarbonisation of the country’s mass transit system.
