Toyota develops new battery recycling technology

Toyota Chemical Engineering claims its new recycling technology will increase yields and lower CO2 emissions, but issues remain around cost. By Stewart Burnett

Toyota Chemical Engineering announced it has developed a new recycling technology for lithium-ion batteries. It claims this will allow CO2 to be reduced from the recycling process while increasing the recovery rate for raw materials including cobalt and lithium.
