Trump on tariff-induced car price hikes: “I couldn’t care less” 

Despite warning signs that tariffs could price entry-level buyers out of the market, President Trump remains adamant. By Stewart Burnett

As the global automotive industry reckons with how to navigate the US’ new punishing across-the-board 25% automotive tariffs, scores of executives and analysts have warned that automakers simply won’t be able to eat the costs—sticker prices will have to increase. In a 29 March interview with NBC News, President Trump retorted that he “couldn’t care less” if foreign-made cars are subject to such price increases.
