Volvo Cars has announced that it is using AI-generated life-like virtual environments to train its advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and other safety software. Using an advanced computational technique called Gaussian splatting, the automaker is synthesising incident data collected by sensors in current-generation cars to explore how accidents can be prevented in the future.
