Volvo Group ramps Mexico plant investment up to US$1bn

The Mexico plant will presumably be used largely to supply trucks to countries other than the US. By Stewart Burnett

Swedish truckmaker Volvo will increase its investment in the truck plant it is constructing in Neuvo Leon, Mexico, to US$1bn, said the country’s Economy Minister, Marcelo Ebrard, on 3 April. When the plant was first announced in August 2024, construction costs were estimated to come in at around US$700m.
